During and after college I worked in technology in various communications and marketing positions. My first “real” job was at EarthLink, one of the first major Internet Service Providers, where I witnessed the growth of the consumer Internet. Although I initially wanted to return to school for an MBA, I was drawn to History because of my passion for the subject.

Since earning my Ph.D. in History at UCLA, I have taught at several major universities in the Los Angeles area. I currently hold an adjunct faculty appointment at California State University, Dominguez Hills, in Carson, California. However, I’ve always believed in making history relevant to people’s daily lives beyond the classroom, and this is our goal at Contextua.
